If it specfically relates to how MacPerl does something that is different from other forms of Perl, then it is relevant to this list. And, specifically, that related to File::Find. You want to recurse? Use File::Find. You want to know how it works? Read the module. Confused about something in File::Find that relates specifically to MacPerl? Feel free to ask on this list. The problem is not that I get annoyed by these questions. The problem is that, reportedly, people leave this list on a regular basis because topics (like this one) drift from the charter of the list. This is not a place to learn Perl, this is not a place to learn how to use modules, this is not a place to do anything but discuss specifics of MacPerl. I don't want to turn anyone who wants to learn Perl away from this list with these words, but if you want to learn Perl, please do not do it by posting here. There are books, newsgroups, friends, IRC, etc. for that. >just the basics. I understand that, and I also understand that this is not the place for such problems except insofar as the question relates specifically to MacPerl. I don't mean to be mean or harsh about it; I am only trying to preserve the list and keep its members (as many of them as possible). If you want to start a list to teach people how to open files, then feel free to start your own list. -- Chris Nandor mailto:pudge@pobox.com http://pudge.net/ %PGPKey=('B76E72AD',[1024,'0824 090B CE73 CA10 1FF7 7F13 8180 B6B6']) #== New Book: MacPerl: Power and Ease ==# #== Publishing Date: Early 1998. http://www.ptf.com/macperl/ ==# ***** Want to unsubscribe from this list? ***** Send mail with body "unsubscribe" to mac-perl-request@iis.ee.ethz.ch
