As does a bunch of documentation; note that the docs are in the lib folder
along with the library, not in the pod folder.

Be sure you have a recent version of MacPerl so you've got LWP included.

For lots more coverage of this sort of thing, you might take a look into "Web
Client Programming with Perl" from O'Reilly & Associates, ISBN 1-56592-214-X.
The book isn't Mac-oriented, but it should help anyway.

(Our book, MacPerl: Power and Ease, mostly points to the online docs for LWP.
They are extensive and your best first line of attack).
