[MacPerl] LWP Firewall problems

Hi,

    I was able to successfully use LWP::Simple to call get() when I gave
it a URL inside our firewall.  It couldn't get() anything outside of it,
however.

    Does anyone know the protocol to get outside of a firewall?  I tried

        print get("http://proxy:8080/www.whatever.com");

(proxy being the url to our proxy, and 8080 being the port we use) but
it didn't work.  Any ideas?
