Almost yes, but with slight exceptions.

Try as follows:

	1	transfer your script from UNI* to Mac

			the end of each line must be
			"CR"

	2	open your script by "MacPerl"

	3	save it as "Droplet"

	4	drag & drop file "19980304" on to droplet icon
		of your script

As you can know above, that you type "genera.... 19980304" on Unix 
environment is equal to that you drag&drop onto droplet.

If you wish to almost exact as UNIX, please use MPW Tool version
of MacPer.
