I thought the two distributions were evolving in parallel, since the
ParallelUserAgent distribution on the CPAN is newer than the LWPng (but
only by 10 days, and the latter is an alpha...).

Anyway, thanks--I'll give it another try. The test script failed somewhere
inside of IO::Select (at a non-obvious place), but it could just be a bug
in the test (time to learn to use the debugger, I guess).
