I have written a cgi script that creates a form based on the data contained in a text file db. This script partly relies on CGI.pm and everything seems to work fine in off line mode both from BBEdit (through the Perl BBEdit extensions) and directly from MacPerl. I also made sure that the script generates the proper mime header before printing the HTML page. Problems occur once the script is saved as a cgi applet. When I use the cgi applet with Webstar 2.0 it returns the following error: Error -1700: Getting CGIreply string (Reply Data could not be coerced to requested type (char)) Error executing CGI application. 07/03/98 12:45:16 OK 192.168.0.2:exulon:cgi-bin:invent:invent.cgi 0 Netscape Communicator 4.0 gets 'Error! Unable to execute the requested CGI application.' and returns the dialog 'Document contains no data' The version of MacPerl is 5.2.0r4, CGI.pm is the one included with the release. I have allocated Mac Perl and WebStar about 12MB of RAM each. Is there be a problem with MacPerl's CGI extension file that I am not aware of? Any hint will be greatly appreciated? ***** Want to unsubscribe from this list? ***** Send mail with body "unsubscribe" to mac-perl-request@iis.ee.ethz.ch
