I never went further after Mac::AssistantFrames - for my tools that is
developed enough. But I do remember that when I needed something more (I
have a project to write my own mail-reader (ok, I know, this is silly, but
this project actually is several years old and used several different
programming languages up to now ;- ) ), there were a few problems with
MacPerls GUI-kit. Things like a more powerfull text-editor (waste?) come
to mind ...

But it definitely was useable. It is a bit more than just Toolbox calls,
Matthias did build a nice and lightwight OO-framework around the Toolbox.
My main problem was that there is no prototyping tool, so you have to
create everything in text-form. That's a bit clumsy sometimes. But it
works.

bye, Georg
