On closer inspection, using the pretty_print routines from Srinivasan's
book, I found that the Cookie object was only partially built.  All the
domains were there, but the accompanying hashes that were to store the
cookie components were empty.

$cookie_jar->as_string yielded nothing, though there was quite a bit of
stuff in the structure.

Then I got your message.

With your fix, everything works splendidly.  Many thanks for the effort,
Paul.  I'll check your site for the new libwww-perl-5.36


Now I can get down to the gory details of handling redirection in the
UserAgent, which is why I suspect I'm still not getting through to the Wall
Street Journal front page...
