[MacPerl] CD-ROM jukebox / SCSI manager

I am working on a project that involves a CD-ROM jukebox. The jukebox has a
robotic mechanism that is connected to a Mac via SCSI. I would like to
control the robotics from MacPERL. The jukebox comes with Windows software
only. There are no software drivers for the Mac.

I have looked at the IM Devices book, which describes the SCSI manager.
However, I can't see how to access the SCSI manager from MacPERL.

I would appreciate any suggestions on how to approach this problem.
