Don't know if you can get MacPerl to do that for you, but there are a couple of other things you can do. First, I must point out that my version of MacPerl (5.2.0r4) doesn't handle drag&drop or Stationary files. But, that's OK for me because I use Alpha. With Alpha I can either create a template and set the Stationary flag to force the creation of a new document, or (my preferred method) use drag&drop to load a template. I use this feature quite a lot for a number of different things. I keep little text clipping files around with templates and snipets I reuse a lot. When I need a template, I just drag&drop it onto my document. Each of my templates has a name and I just Command-Drag them to the top of my screen so I just have a bunch of tab-like file names across the very top edge of my screen - easy to get at. I use Stickies with the window shade up to do a similar thing for stuff that changes occasionally. Hope this helps. jay ***** Want to unsubscribe from this list? ***** Send mail with body "unsubscribe" to mac-perl-request@iis.ee.ethz.ch
