Sue, I think posts like yours are invaluable to this list. More of the Mac community should know what power they could have with MacPerl that apply to their everyday work. To the topic, you need to make sure that the script is launched with the correct "mode". These modes are described (albeit somewhat cryptically) in the primary ReadMe (whose name escapes me at the moment). Keep in mind that AppleScript is synchronous, so if you, say, have FileMaker talk to MacPerl via AppleScript, any AppleScripts that the MacPerl script invokes will have to execute after the first has completed or the second will never execute and both will time out. I have had this experience many times. If you can't make heads or tails of the "modes" of MacPerl (I sure didn't), I can re-post (with due credit, of course ;-) a message that I had saved that explains them very well.
