[MacPerl] re: sending email through Perl

There's one other simple way to send e-mail on a MacOnly machine.

Use EIMS or SIMS (free or commercial EIMS 2.x) and MailBurst
(commercial). MailBurst has a "drop" folder that lets you drop in a
single file, created per the drop file specs that will be sent out
automatically through EIMS or SIMS to 1 or thousands of people.

Why is this a desirable solution? Very little mucking with details, only
one commercial app (that runs exceptionally well and is fast) and you
don't have to deal with extra networking code or apps. EIMS/SIMS are
very stable network apps.

Using the drop folder in MailBurst is simply a matter of creating a file
and moving it to the drop folder. Create a file called
"+david@dantowitz.com" and it will be sent to me.
