[MacPerl] Serial IO with MacPerl?

Is there a way in MacPerl to access the Modem port (or even better, a
Communication ToolBox device)?

I'm trying to port an application that uses a QuadraLink 4-port Serial
card. I have the CTB driver for it. In applications that support it, it
gives you four additional serial ports.

Is there a way to get data in and out via serial ports in Macperl? Is there
a special filename or Dev: device?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
