I'm not sure if the amount of memory allocated to the droplet is the whole story. I've had the same droplet act differently under different operating systems. At one point, I was able to drop 118 files with no problems, but at other times, I can only drop half or a third of them. Whenever I upgrade my Mac OS or boot from another system the "magic number" seems to change.

I will try increasing the droplet memory to see if the problem goes away permenantly.
