Confirmed. I can't give hard number recommendations, but I made 1000 temp
files, and it would not work with the standard 64K given to a droplet, but
it would work when I upped it to 1024K.

You can set the default for new droplets to be a higher value with ResEdit
(always work on a copy ...). Open the SIZE resource of the droplet, and
change the size to a new value (1048576 would be 1024K). Restart MacPerl,
and all new droplets will have that preferred size.
