I seem to remember cranking the memory allocation (File >-> Get Info) up to about 100K, and then it could handle (pass to MacPerl) >a reasonable number of files. Confirmed. I can't give hard number recommendations, but I made 1000 temp files, and it would not work with the standard 64K given to a droplet, but it would work when I upped it to 1024K. You can set the default for new droplets to be a higher value with ResEdit (always work on a copy ...). Open the SIZE resource of the droplet, and change the size to a new value (1048576 would be 1024K). Restart MacPerl, and all new droplets will have that preferred size. -- Chris Nandor mailto:pudge@pobox.com http://pudge.net/ %PGPKey = ('B76E72AD', [1024, '0824090B CE73CA10 1FF77F13 8180B6B6']) ***** Want to unsubscribe from this list? ***** Send mail with body "unsubscribe" to mac-perl-request@iis.ee.ethz.ch
