I had a look at the Yellow Dog site to see if I could find anything patently wrong with their wording, and frankly it looked OK to me. They clearly state in several places that it is based on the PPC Linux kernel, but optimized for G3 hardware. In the "Gone Home" section they say: > Yellow Dog Linux Gone Home is Terra Soft Solution's Linux > release for Apple Macintosh PowerPC (600 and G3 series) > hardware designed specifically for home use. You can't get much more clear than that. While they do say that the distribution is on 2 CD's, I didn't find anything that suggested that there were separate PPC and G3 installations. In fact, the only place where it looks a bit dodgy is in the banner where they say "for Macintosh PPC & G3 Computers". You can argue that they were: (a) Trying to keep it short and simple. (b) Not wanting to assume that their customers were smart enough to know that a G3 was a PPC. (c) They are putz's. (d) All of the above... I did find a few minor grammatical errors that made me think they should have spent a few bucks on a proof reader... So maybe it is (c), after all. jay ***** Want to unsubscribe from this list? ***** Send mail with body "unsubscribe" to mac-perl-request@iis.ee.ethz.ch
