Maybe something which uses Net::FTP to check the CD installation against what is currently on CPAN? It could be labeled something like "RUN ME FIRST!" and then ask the user whether or not they want the program to check their CD installation against CPAN. Afterwards, it could ask several questions like "Do you want X?" with a short explanation of what X does. I think CPAN has a small doc on each item doesn't it? That is what could be displayed. Anyway, just an idea. :-) What with MacPerl now able to handle fonts and all it would be fairly simple to at least put up an unusual looking information page which catches their eye. So at least there would be a chance to tell them something about what can or can not be deleted (which is just about nothing from the release if I remember correctly). "RUN ME FIRST!" is kind of a _gotcha_ program similar to "READ ME FIRST!". So I'd think a lot of people would at least click on it to see what it does. :-) ***** Want to unsubscribe from this list? ***** Send mail with body "unsubscribe" to mac-perl-request@iis.ee.ethz.ch
