>>If anybody know where can I find these progs, please tell me. >There is something called JPL, which is the Java-Perl project named after >Larry's former employer, and it is going to be Open Source (according to >O'Reilly), but it does not yet AFAIK do anything like that, though I've >heard people say that it might evolve to include that functionality. JPL is included as part of the O'Reilly Perl Resource Kit (at least it's in the unix edition) available at fine bookstores everyware -- it'll set you back about $150 US. >From p. 2 of Perl Utilities Guide: JPL is a Java/Perl interface written by Larry Wall exclusively for the Perl Resource Kit. ... JPL allows you to easily embed Perl within Java applications and provides "glue" between the two languages. Using JPL, you can write embedded Perl methods that manipulate Java objects and primative data types. Perl methods can accept Java objects and primitive values as arguments, and can also return objects and values to Java methods. So if that's what the original question was asking for... go buy a copy of the Perl Resource Kit. -Eric ***** Want to unsubscribe from this list? ***** Send mail with body "unsubscribe" to mac-perl-request@iis.ee.ethz.ch
