[MacPerl] Passing Text to a Browser

I seem to have a mine of problems due to the fact I have a MacOS hybrid
(part English, most part Japanese) - currently I'm struggling to get cgi's
to direct their data streams to a window in a browser -

Or rather my problem is doing this without having  a 'live' connection to
the internet -

I have tried connecting to 192.0.01 - no joy
I have configured a small 2 Mac LAN and trying to access the HTTP server on
the other node of my 'local network' - no joy

Currently I'm digging into the possibility of using apple events i.e.
passing the browser request through a compiled apple script and vice versa
for the cgi output to the browser -

I was just wondering before I get into doing this if anyone has done
anything similar
