Only, I had forgotten about the Quickdraw extension. Funny enough, the DrawPicture.t test script worked, even with mixed old and new Quickdraw files. Anyway; about the speed: why does it take several (around 8) seconds to start up? Is it these extensions that need to get loaded? Once it runs, the speed seems to be satisfactory. How fast is this MacPerl GUI stuff, anyway, compared to other programming environments?
