I get a little web-site for cs dept professors, students and staff who are teaching, learning and utilizing Java. I'm running it off of WebTen and a G3. I spent most of the Fall putting together a global cs dept homepage & contact page index. [This is before I realized that there was an easier way - perl's LWP Robot/UA capabilities. I want to do the same thing for US cs departments, and ultimately maintain all these links via perl. I know that macPerl is the tool to use. I also know that the LWP Robot script is what I should probably start with. I imagine that I should utilize some sort of "header" and ".edu" search subroutine, since many university/college web pages do not have meta-tags within them. Have any of you set up a similar program? I've looked around, but I haven't found any reference materials that address just the LWP Robot, UA. Would any of you have any pointers or reference materials that I might look at.....Or even a program that you've written that I can modify?
