This is going to be a long premise for a very general question... I have been having lots of problems with Mac OS 8.0 and 8.1 on my Supermac C600x/280. I've been led to believe that the problems probably result from Apple's disk drivers. So as I prepare to rebuild my main hard drive, I'm afraid I going to have to revert to Mac OS 7.6. That was the OS loaded on my mac when I bought it. However, there is some Finder functionality that I will really miss. In particular, I like being able to arrange icons aphabetically in a folder. The short question is, can I replicate some of this functionality with MacPerl? I've been using MacPerl for half a year or so, but I haven't delved into the Mac-specific or toolbox functionality. Now for the general question. If I can replicate some of the 8.x Finder functions, how do I go about it? Since I'm posing a general question, I'm hoping for general answers, like what toolbox routines should I look into, what references should download, etc. MTIA...
