Forgive me if this sounds naive, but I haven't been using MacPerl for very lon :-) Are you saying 20 to 30MB of app heap? I wonder, if this is true, if Perl can be made to use temp when appropriate, like BBEdit does, so the app heap can be small, and you can get the memory you need as long as it is available. This doesn't, however, alleviate the need to have that much memory in the first place. (The ram use probably won't bother me either, my powerbook has 192MB and my desktop has 228MB.
