Was it reproducible?  What exactly did you do (aka "steps to reproduce").

For example, when I select the debugger from the MacPerl script menu and
then run a simple script I get the expected:

Loading DB routines from perl5db.pl version 1
Emacs support available.

Enter h or `h h' for help.

main::(Dev:Pseudo:3):	$ARGV[1]="io";
  DB<1>

No crash.
