MacPerl 5.2.0r4 is based on perl5.004.

It is right there in the File directory.

Note that the cpan-mac distribution contains a lot of commonly used
modules, including File::Spec, and installs in one fell swoop.  It also
contains programs for more easy access to CPAN, and droplets for
automatically unpacking and installing most modules.  You can get it at the
