In the mortal words of Dr. Nick Riviera, Hello Everybody! Me and my faithful IIci installed MacPerl a few days ago and subscribed to macperl.org yesterday - just as madame philosophe <mp@mkt2spamisbadmkt.com> got her very warm welcome. Re what Matthias wrote - I don't know what CFM68K is but this seems a real good time to speak out before it gets unsupported. By the way, what is it? Also re (Peta Adams / John Murray <jmnc@lis.net.au>)'s advice to beginners part 2, >2. Set yourself a task list of say five simple little programs. Are any of these simple little programs? I'd like to use perl to: 1) publish a 15 field database and include a page via which people wanting to register can submit an application, 2) analyse the popularity of songs on a site with 50 RealAudios on it, currently getting 1100 ram downloads a day, 3) extract multiple search engine responses for offline browsing (there's no such thing as free local calls in the UK) If these aren't going to be simple little programs, any suggestions? I always thought "Read the FAQ" was a pretty reasonable response - any good FAQs around for someone with my expertise (=0)?
