Well, obviously, since Toolserver takes AppleEvents, it should be possible to control it from the MacPerl app, correct? Has anyone tried doing this, or is is just easier to use the MPW tool? The reason I ask, is that I have some code which will (eventually) write resource compiler sources as part of it's output. I could just write the resources directly, but there are cross-platform issues. I can't be sure that MPW or Toolserver will be present on every Mac this program may run on, but they're availalbe on mine. So the conditions are this: IF the program is running under MacPerl (it may be running under Unix), IF the user has ToolServer, The program should instruct Rez to compile the resources it's just written. ELSE The program should exit after having written the resource compiler sources. ELSE (program not running under MacPerl) skip writing the resource compiler sources Actually it may be better just to put up a dialog for Mac users and let them select their preferences, but this begs the real question: Would it be necessary (or even useful) to have an AppleEvent glue for ToolServer? --B # Fungal Parataxonomy Mycology Information (Mycoinfo) # Webmaster, Staff Writer **The World's First Mycology E-Journal** # <mailto:webmaster@mycoinfo.com> <http://www.mycoinfo.com/> # # First they ignore you.
