And what does Net::FTP say? Read the pod to see how to turn debugging on.

I have a drop directory on one of my Suns at work which is scanned twice a
day, and anything in it is sent to my Mac at home using Net::FTP. When
it's running MacOS. the server is NetPresenz. I rarely have any problems,
certainly not 1/3 of the time.

I'm not sure what you mean, but the answer is probably no.

It helps a lot if you can put NetPresenz in the foreground, And if you're
running any potential CPU suckers like Seti@Home, turn them off. (The RC5
client, which I run, doesn't seem to have much of an effect once it's been
shifted to the background, but I have no experience with Seti@Home, so 1
have no idea if the same is true for it.)
