Thanks Brian for all this explanation!
In fact, my wish is to pruchase and install the WWWThreads package 
http://www.wwwthreads.com/   an outstanding board! There's a need of 
a sql backend and that's why I am interested in interfacing MacPerl 
or Perl (on webten) webten, to MySQL.
Thanks to your explanation I am going to see better what's really 
feasable or not on the MacOS platform.
