Like with ... Rebol?  :)  Seriously, I and others have written stuff like
this for Perl (using a simple TIEHANDLE), but apparently few people care,
because everytime someone mentions it or comes up with YA way to do it, the
response is a big yawn.

I do not see this as a virtue or feature in any way at all.
