[MacPerl] Curious in regard to the future of MacPerl

Hi there

I've been wondering about a few things...in regard to MacOS X.

Will regular UNIX Perl scripts be able to run in MacOS X? I mean, as
self-executable? Could I just type "myscript.pl" in the console and the
script will execute, like in UNIX? Or is this something nobody knows?

Is it worth aquiring MacOS ToolBox knowledge with the new OS coming?

I assume that MacPerl will be upgraded to suit the new OS X....still,
I'm immersed in studying Perl on the Mac, and I'm wondering if I'm
aquiring a lot of knowledge that will be useless and obsolete in a few
months' time.

What about AppleScript? Will the OS X continue with AppleScript? Will
MacPerl become more powerful with the new OS?

Just some thoughts,
