I'm having problems installing the Digest module that is available on the Mac Porter's Perl Modules (Digest-MD5-2.09-bin-1-Mac.tgz). Whenever I install it with the installme droplet, MacPerl ends up crashing. However, if I uncompress it first (using the proper droplet) and install the resulting folder, I get the following warnings/etc during the install: Testing alignment requirements for U32... # Use of uninitialized value. File ':Makefile.PL'; Line 87 Can't compile test program # Use of uninitialized value. File ':Makefile.PL'; Line 97 Checking if your kit is complete... Looks good Writing Makefile.mk for Digest::MD2 Testing alignment requirements for U32... Can't compile test program # WARNING from evaluation of iMac:Downloads:Digest-MD5-2.09-bin-1-Mac:Mac_changed/Makefile.PL: # Could not open 'MD5.pm' (attribute VERSION_FROM): No such file or directory. File 'iMac:Programming:MacPerl ƒ:site_perl:ExtUtils:MM_MacOS.pm'; Line 327 [the rest of the process didn't have errors] Is this normal, or does it indicate a problem that'll make the module useless?
