Well I had some idea on some of them (hence the smiley), but just
reading how the the original poster was spewing them out in long gooey
strings...

I do research / algorithm development / rapid prototyping in the areas
of text processing, natural language processing, knowledge discovery
from text, etc.  I use perl almost exclusively, and I have a lot of
FUN doing it.  I've been on UNIX systems constantly since 1985 or so,
but I never had to do SA (another new acronym for me ;-) until our
real sysadmin quit about 1.5 years ago.
