I dunno, what is the error, and who is "they"?  If you use installme and
untarzipme for unpacking, and if site_perl is set to come before lib in
your prefs before any install, as far as I can tell, you shouldn't have
problems.

What do you mean "perl-related text files"?  What is creating those files
in question?
