i'm new here, so sorry if this is a faq. there seemed to be an article on this in the archives, but i could not get the search engine to give me thje actual article! I have a powerbook 540c running system 7.5.1 with "Apple Menu Options" version 1.0.1. i also have the MacPerl application version 5.0.6r1m (31Jan96). it appears that if i try to open something using the apple menu while macperl is the front app, my mac hangs or bombs. i've heard rumors that Apple Menu Options is problematic, but i'm pretty dependent on it. is there a workaround? have others seen the problem i describe? anyone but matthias can skip the rest of this. _______________________________________ --- Majordomo@iis.ee.ethz.ch wrote: Welcome to the MacPerl mailing list! If you are a new subscriber to the list, I would be interested to know: - How you learned about the existence of MacPerl - Whether you received your copy by ftp or by CD - Whether you are using the MPW tool or the application - what you are planning to use Perl for And now, have fun using MacPerl! Matthias --- end of quoted material --- learned about it by seeing a reference in one of the scripting lists or newsgroups; can't recall which one exactly. got it by ftp. using the application. might use the tool if i can get it to work (have an antique MPW, but working on getting a newer one). using macperl mainly to learn perl so i can write cgi on a unix platform, but i'll probably use it for other things. thanks again for doing this port.
