[MacPerl] byteserver.pl?

Adobe's site recently published "byteserver.pl", for serving PDF 
documents on a demand, page-by-page basis.  The script implements, in 
effect, the "Byte Range Retrieval Extension to HTTP" described at 
"ftp://ds.internic.net/internet-drafts/draft-ietf-http-range-retrieval-00.t
xt".

My first attempt to make this work with MacPerl [4.1.8] + WebSTAR [1.2.1] 
failed.  Before I send out a plea for specific help, maybe someone on the 
list has been more successful?
