The original idea behind MacPerl documentation was that it is meant for people who already know Perl from books or other platforms, and I think that the 5.1.0 documentation is pretty good for those people. There have been a few tutorial efforts. Janis Greenberg's tutorial is very good for the Hello Worldish aspects; unfortunately we never got around to getting a machine readable copy of it ready for inclusion in the distribution.
