Sorry Paul - I haven't changed anything with CFM.

I checked this out.
I had
ObjectSupportLib 1.0.2
Apple Event Manager 1.0.3
AppleScriptLib 1.1
AppleScript D2-1.1

upgraded ObjectSupportLib to 1.0.4 and AppleScriptLib to 1.2.2 (those
packaged in the MacPerl distribution).

I couldn't find a newer version of ObjectSupportLib somethere using
archie. You (Bob) wrote about 1.0.6 or 1.1. Where can I obtain such
a version?

Does it make sense to delve into MacsBug to see what's happening.

Thanks to anybody who gave help - but the problem is still unsolved.
