[MacPerl] FTP and Perl

Is there an easy way to have MacPerl FTP a file to a site?
I'm looking at macchat.pl and I believe it can be done but
if someone has something they've already done (or just an
example to go by) I'd appreciate it.  I want to modify my
default web page on my internet provider every time I log
in so I can let it know what IP address I'm presently at.
In this way I can have a web server running on my Mac at
home and keep my software creations safe.  Thanks ahead of
time for any ideas or help.  :-)
