There was a special "education" price that was far less than half of the
full retail price. The versions are identical; not even special packaging
like the CodeWarrior Academic. And all upgrades are at the normal upgrade
price of $40.

You can't get this price direct from BareBones, you have to go to an
academic reseller (or at least you used to have to).
