And addenum to my previous memo:

The file that contains all the templates for the perl mode
(PerlCompeltions.tcl - in Compeltions folder) has a mistake that prevents
you from extracting the name of a previously used identifier for the text
buffer.

The line:
set completions(Perl) {contraction completion::cmd Electric completion::word}


should be:
set completions(Perl) {contraction completion::cmd Electric Var}

You can acces this file via the "Config:Current Mode:Edit Completions" menu
selection.
