[MacPerl] who is logged on

I'm working on a script that will open a text file and copy text into a
new document. This part I have no trouble with. But what text is copied
will depend on who the user is that is running the script. So here's my
question.

How can I find out who the user is? I know that the user will have a
particular volume mounted (because the script will be run from this
volume). Is there a way in MacPerl to find out how the user is logged
on, ie the user name?

Any ideas out there? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I know this is a MacPerl group, but I'd settle for an AppleScript
solution too if anyone know one. Thanks again.
