One is that until Matthias released 5.14r4, this was useful only to people running the various betas. Now, it works *only* for 5.14r4, since the Mac::Files interface has changed. It also needs to be cleaned up a little more. But the more serious reason is that I'm completely unwilling to jump through the .tar.gz hoop for a pure MacPerl module. If the powers that be at CPAN will accept a .sit.hqx with a MacPerl droplet (let's call it Makefile.PL just for fun) that guesses where to install, asks the user if this is right, and then installs, then I'll go ahead and make such a thing. I'll have to anyway since shortly LWP will be included in MacPerl, and there needs to be some way to handle the frequent LWP updates cleanly. If they insist on .tar.gz, then that's life. Then not all good things written in Perl will be at CPAN. But that's already the case, anyway. } }Regardless, you can pick it up from his web site at: } } http://mors.gsfc.nasa.gov/MacPerl.html } }-- }Chris Nandor pudge@pobox.com http://pudge.net/ }%PGPKey=('B76E72AD',[1024,'0824 090B CE73 CA10 1FF7 7F13 8180 B6B6']) }#== MacPerl: Power and Ease ==# }#== Publishing Date: Early 1998. http://www.ptf.com/macperl/ ==# } } } }***** Want to unsubscribe from this list? }***** Send mail with body "unsubscribe" to mac-perl-request@iis.ee.ethz.ch --- Paul J.
