Actually, The ForeSight Group makes something called DataScript. This is an AppleScriptable helper app that works with SQL*Net to communicate with Oracle. They have additional flavors of DataScript for the other popular RDBMS.

I have not had time to delve into DataScript yet, but I worry that it will be too slow for larger projects. Offhand, I can't recall if it's possible to submit PL*SQL to the server via DataScript. I'm hoping to move toward PL*SQL as I gain more experience. I will be using Frontier to drive DataScript, so maybe things won't be too slow.

Also: the Oracle Products CD that comes with any sizeable licence (enterprise level) includes several small apps that are all minimally AppleScript-able. If I remember correctly, you can send a SQL query string via SQL*Plus as a Do Script event. The mac version has means for getting the returned data stored directly to disk. There are separate apps for doing batch loading of data into tables and other things. I feel that a more integrated approach with MacPerl and Frontier would be preferred.
