Re: [MacPerl] On Mac OS Scripting and Steve Jobs

Check the followup: <http://www.scripting.com/davenet/98/03/perlXML.html>

Oh, wait, he doesn't mention MacPerl here, either. He's apparently not
aware at all of the push for an OSA MacPerl or the reasons it doesn't
exist, even though that's exactly what he's requesting. He never mentions
MacPerl or its principals specifically.

It's pretty condescending, but that's winer for you. Great tech; married
to petulance, quicksand ideology, and long-term grudges. For a while I
thought he was going to get somewhere pretty special, but in the last six
months as I've watched his commitment to Windows increase at the direct
expense of his commitment to the mac (he has no unix presence) and become
increasingly convinced that Perl will eat his lunch. He may be realizing
that too, I can't tell.
