I'm writing a MacPerl script to automate some file maintenance stuff that I'm doing -- and also to strengthen my grasp of the language. I'm using the latest MacPerl on my PowerMac 8100 and 9500 machines. Both are running System 8.0. I've scoured the sample scripts and documents, and visited the MacPerl and PTF web sites, but I'm unable to find a suggested way to launch a Mac application from MacPerl; even the Apple event docs aren't very helpful. I don't want to run an AppleScript (I'm replacing a couple of AppleScripts with a Perl script already!) and it's OK if the Perl script quits as the subsequent app launches. I could swear I've seen a script fragment that launches a Mac app, but I can't find it now. Can anyone point me to a source of examples, or a place in the docs where I can read more about this? -- | Greg Dunn | | | GregDunn@aol.com | "Who is Number One???" | | gregdunn@indy.net | | | http://members.aol.com/gregdunn | Patrick McGoohan | ***** Want to unsubscribe from this list? ***** Send mail with body "unsubscribe" to mac-perl-request@iis.ee.ethz.ch
