[MacPerl] The subject under discussion

I'm reposting this comment under its own (appropriate :-) subject, for the
benefit of those who weren't following the Password dialog thread; it was
pointed out to me that the combination of subjects was just as bad as a 90
degree turn and that perhaps this comment deserved its own thread!
My apologies for missing that!

Could I ask, please, very politely, that when a thread bifurcates
and a new thread is born to please try to change the subject line
accordingly?

This has come up in relation to the recent thread on Password dialogs
(which became a thread on Attachments without changing subject). When I
wanted to discuss something _actually_ related to Alan Fry's Password
dialog box, I was unable to reply to the original (legitimate) thread
because the attachment discussion just caused our ListMom to close that
thread. :-(

Besides, I have a threaded mail reader; I group messages by Subject. Help
me out here, please? thanks.

Vicki

(p.s. you could say this is a discussion of what it means to be a thread.
But I didn't say that :-)
