Listers, After much help, we've finally managed to get the script to work on both Mac and Unix. Many thanks and I'll be summarizing replies soon. If anyone is interested in the script and some test files, I'll be glad to pass it along but I don't have a place to put it up for FTP and we're behind a firewall. For that matter, if someone without a firewall would like to put this up for public display, I'll send it to there and everyone can visit that site. It turns out the primary problem was not only was the script required to be in the cgi-bin folder, it was required to be in the RIGHT cgi-bin folder. That's right friends - for some reason, this box has TWO cgi-bin folders and the right one is not the one off the root. It also has multiple log files and the correct one isn't anywhere near the root, the web server or anything else that would seem related. I have no idea who set up the box but it's MUCH messier than my Mac hard drive could ever hope to be. If all goes well, I'll be setting up a scrap Unix box (probably a Q630 or so with FreeBSD) for testing under Unix (and learning Unix as well). Is Unix generally speaking Unix for most CGI testing or are there other things that may need to be changed between SunOS, Solaris, Linux and BSD?
