In Mac OS 8.5 you can attach a script to a folder.  Until then, you can either:

1.  Have the script run continuously (possibly under a copy of the MacPerl
application) and check the folder.

2.  Download some version of cron for Mac OS (I used one called "Cron")
that launches aliases at specified times.
