AFAIK, "all" you would need to do is: - Make a copy of MacPerl (let's call it "MacPerl Copy" for the meantime) - Open ResEdit - File -> Get File/Folder Info... - Select "MacPerl Copy" - Change the "Creator" field to something else (eg, from "McPL" to "mcpl") Note that the value in this box must be different to the value in any other application's "creator" field. There is/was a register at Apple for all the Creator types. However, for your purposes, you just need to make the creator field unique to your machine - For your "production" scripts, either bulk change the creator (using a utility such as FileTyper, for example) or open them one by one in ResEdit and change them manually. Your modified MacPerl will lose its icon - that can be fixed by fiddling with the resources. The modified MacPerl will still save documents with the creator type "McPL", making them MacPerl documents.
